"Odysseus' Clepsydra"

Photographer Makis Makris, hailing from Kavala, Greece, presents a captivating visual narrative inspired by Homer's epic tale, "The Odyssey."

His "Odysseus' Clepsydra" project is a collage of fragments culled from candid snapshots, archival materials, and carefully chosen scenes from diverse television broadcasts.

This artistic endeavour aims to illustrate the internal tumult and emotional transitions that occur during a challenging and uncertain journey through life. It delves into the inner conflict where one's dreams and desires perpetually clash with feelings of fear and unease, not only stemming from past experiences but also from the unknown future:

"As we embark on the voyage of life, the aspirations we set at its outset often encounter unforeseen twists and setbacks, transforming the years into an unending struggle for survival. Yet, the Time that remains is filled with the promise of restoring our mental equilibrium guiding us towards ultimate redemption. Amidst the darkness and chaos that govern our existence, there exists a glimmer of hope, a faint light that, though not necessarily radiant, can illuminate our path if we permit it. In any case, without darkness, how could we truly appreciate and revere the light...?"
