Anastasia Perraki. Model

Anastasia Perrakis is a model with a restless spirit. She has worked with the biggest names in fashion and has done so with hard work and discipline.

BYO: A few words about you!

ANASTASIA: I grew up in Aegina, where I went to school and lived until I was 18. As a child I had a love of clothes, without much understanding it brought me to the exciting world of fashion. I've been working as a model for the last 18 years. I recently graduated from Freddy's makeup school and I started working on it at the same time.

BYO: Where do you place fashion in Greece? It is on a level as in foreign countries;

ANASTASIA: The level of fashion in Greece I consider to be quite a high level, although Greece does not have the same purchasing power as the other big cities. There are many good designers in Greece and some of them have already stood out abroad.

BYO: Which countries have you worked in?

ANASTASIA: I have worked in European countries. Italy, Germany, Portugal, and for a time in Turkey.

BYO: Which designers/houses have you worked with and what jobs/projects have you kept in mind as the best?

ANASTASIA: In Greece I have worked with most Greek designers. With some, it binds our deep love and mutual appreciation after so many years of collaborations. From collaborations with major brands in Greece and abroad, I distinguish the global campaign of Apivita, the fashion show of Jean-Paul Gaultier at the Benaki Museum, the Peugeot campaign in Milan, and covers in major magazine titles such as Vogue, Madame Figaro, Beaute, etc.

BYO: What do you think the Greek public is asking of fashion?

ANASTASIA: I think it's not just for the Greek public but worldwide the public is asking for well-dressed, aesthetically and comfortable clothes, which can become all-day outfits with the change of some accessories.

BYO: It's your creative job, have you been able to express yourself through it?

ANASTASIA: The constant rotation of partners, locations and concepts undoubtedly fuels my restless spirit.

BYO: What does a model or fashion man need to have in general to be able to do business outside Greece?

ANASTASIA: Patience and perseverance. To know how to listen and then to filter. Hard work and military discipline.

BYO: Does the Greek creation contribute to the style of the Greek public or are the recruits mainly from abroad?

ANASTASIA: In the age of globalisation our recruits come mainly from the internet and social media and are generally bombarded by images. Clearly the country you live in, the weather and the culture creates an alloy that everyone expresses through it.

BYO: What does "reach high" mean in fashion, to be recognized as someone in the fashion industry?

ANASTASIA: The years of work, the collaborations you have made and the people you have worked with.

BYO: What motivates you in your daily life?

ANASTASIA: I try to draw positive energy from where I can. I'm motivated by my friends, the weather, a coffee with people I love, a nice conversation.

BYO: Are there things in town that inspire you?

ANASTASIA: Discover small corners in the neighbourhoods of Athens as I walk. I like the centre, Plaka and around the Acropolis both for their beauty and for their energy.

BYO: Do you have anything specific as an experience in Athens that you enjoy? A ride, a particular spot, a time of day?

ANASTASIA: I love organic shops, I like to sit for hours and discover new flavours and raw materials and think about how I can incorporate them into my diet.
